I know that an author receives a better rate on book purchases made directly from the publisher than from, say Amazon. I plan to order Daughter of Spies, but it would save me the trouble of Googling the book to find the publisher, then going to their website, if you had included a link. As a reader of the blog, I don't think that people would find a purchase link at the first mention of a work (yours or another author) in this column to be too commercial. We understand that authors need to support themselves. Another choice might be a tab or a box on the page listing your works, each with a link, if you don't want commercial links on your pages.
Hi Elizabeth, Congratulations on your award for Daughter of Spies! Such a deserving book. Love this new platform—wonderful to keep up with your progress.
Sheila, thanks so much for letting me know and for your subscription to my newsletter. We writers have to work to hold each other up through the good and the bad times….
Thank you, Elizabeth. What a great idea to share a photo of where the work and the magic happens (I noticed your Peruvian lilies(?) , as I always try to have flowers on my desk.) I appreciate your valuable thoughts on the stages in creating a work.
Hi Elizabeth, Marie Doench here. I taught at the Moriah School, where twice you gave presentations with the students on Counting on Grace. I also live in North Adams and am a friend of Pat Koslowe.
I am one of of the many wondering if you would be available in July for our Library Book Club discussions of your memoir, Daughter of Spies. It would meet on Thursday, July 6, at 3:00.
Of course it’s possible you may not even be in Williamstown then- but then August would be great, too!
Anyway, hope you are well and enjoying spring( though it’s not here yet!).

It was my pleasure. I so enjoyed "Daughter of Spies," I hope everyone buys it!

Your desk is so neat. A very calming place to work.
Thank you for this little snapshot of your process. As always, your words are delightful.
What a wonderful journey you have offered, from your musings to your writing! So useful to those of us who get stalled in the process.

Patricia, I have to admit that I cleaned it up a bit before I took the picture:)
